It’s hard to believe it’s already August 8th, classes will be starting at the end of the month (I know, I know) and Work & Pick at Eden Hall is almost over! There have been rain cancellations, a lot of patty pan & kale harvests, not enough tomato harvests (yet!), and a ton of leaf mulch has been added to the garden beds. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of Eden Hall’s Work & Pick volunteers. The interns, as well as the Work & Pick Coordinator have also been hard at work with their own projects, so look forward to hearing about the experiences of the interns very soon!
A Saturday Work & Pick Harvest – Kale, swiss chard, squash and lettuce were shared and taken home
The garden beds with leaf mulch…
The flowers at Eden Hall have been attracting a lot of pollinators this summer (they look nice, too).
Although we’ve had a lot of issues with flea beetles this summer, the eggplants are finally starting to produce and look better.
Seeds were also just planted during a rainy evening for the Greenhouse Production class that will be starting in a few weeks! Kale, chard, lettuce, broccoli, spinach and cabbage were all seeded, so they should be ready just in time for the students.
Thanks for stopping by!
